Change Management

A systematic approach to managing the people side of change.

A process which contributes to the effective management of individuals and teams in order to achieve high levels of organisational performance . It links project management and employees objectives with corporate objectives. It increases employee engagement and contribution to the company's goals by utilising best practice.

Many organisations tend to focus on the technical changes e.g. changing processes, installing new hardware or software. However the real benefit in any change comes when people modify their way of functioning and behaviour.

Not having an effective people change methodology is a sure-fire way of failing to deliver business benefits.

Change initiatives tend to fail to deliver on-time, go over budget, get stopped or not used in the way they were intended even when project management methods are rigorously applied. People tend to underestimate what's required to overcome people’s natural resistance to change and the inability of people to adjust their behaviour. The difference that makes a difference is the science of bringing together the Change Management and project skills, in order to win hearts and minds. It integrates the necessary behaviour, skills, commitment and alignment to ensure a successful outcome.

Why Change Management - we already have Project Managers?

People tend to underestimate peoples natural resistance to change and, usually by the time the Project Manager is handed the project, the ‘live date’ is already fixed in stone. The Project Manager is contracted to deliver on time and to budget in order to realise the return on investment (ROI). As a consequence, projects have a tendency to get thrown over the wall ‘coming ready or not’ (from an employee’s perspective) especially, if people  believe they are being done to, as opposed to consulted.
‘Every hierarchy knows that a subordinates’ possible resistance is more deadly than the superiors’ active power,’ hence the people ‘push back’; this is largely why so many projects fail to deliver on time and cost.

Change Management activities involve doing work in new ways, but with a disciplined approach. It is best used on initiatives where the risk of failure is high and where people’s way of working needs to change.  It fully integrates with other disciplines such as Six Sigma and project planning such as Prince 2, in planning, testing and implementing all aspects of the change.

Me two u utilises a process which contributes to the effective management of individuals and teams in order to achieve high levels of organisational performance. We share tools, techniques, best working practices and understanding about what is to be achieved and how. We provide people with arrange of tools and techniques including:

People, Processes and Technology framework

The reason why it is so successful is it creates a solid foundation by providing clear and consistent communication plans and an effective mechanism for measuring and tracking commitment and performance.  What gets measured gets done, and what gets done gets rewarded!

Change Management  links project management and employees objectives with corporate objectives. It increases employee engagement and contribution to the company's goals by utilising best practice.

Why should we invest in yet another change discipline?

If your project/change requires significant numbers of people to change values, attitudes or behaviours if it is to succeed, then consider using a structured change management approach. The costs involved are not large compared with the potential alternative of time and cost overruns.

Independent IT research organisation Gartner Group reported that for major corporate system investments:

  • 28% are abandoned before completion

  • 46% are behind schedule or over budget

  • 80% are not used in the way they were intended to be used at all six months after installation

Our Change Management is designed for people who have complete or partial responsibility for implementing a significant change in their organisation.

  • Produce an effective tracking accountability mechanism
  • Learn essential tools and techniques for improving performance
  • Identify risks and issues
  • Create solid and sustainable implementation plans
  • Create consistent communication messages
  • Develop internal change leadership skills

The difference that makes a difference!
